The airboat shown above is a powerful new design by Diamond Back Airboats to help on sound and performance. This is a mid size airboat at 22' with a 496 cubic inch 8.1 leader engine. Counter rotating 3 blade props, 6 blades in all, makes for less noise and levels out boat torque. For the horsepower minded this special marine design GM engine is capable of up to 600hp. The smaller airboats are a little quicker in response but the larger airboats are faster and more comfortable as they ride higher out of the swampy everglades headwaters.
